1. Physics lab activities are based on inexpensive hand held data acquisition systems (link), sensors
and small-scale portable experimental set-ups.
They become available anywhere: inside and outside the university facilities or school laboratory.
Laboratory activities can be performed in schoolrooms, or as travelling laboratory or even in students'
homes.
2. Interactive laboratory learning materials are made more accessible to students using information
and computer technology.
Each complete experiment is presented using modern multimedia techniques. This includes relevant pictures, animations, MPEG movies, expected results, downloadable necessary computing procedures,
programmes and sets of exemplary experimental data.
This "all in one" package enables the individual student to prepare, perform and analyse the real experiment
on his own (or with others), in his own time. This promotes autonomous exploration and effective usage of ICT tools and methods.
Using multimedia LEPLA resources and these learning concepts, students will become more self reliant and better able to follow their studies.
This innovative concept of using modern information technology leads to student centred laboratory activities
instead of today's institutional based course. This makes practical experimentation available to much wider groups of students.
